Unimex Corporation, a supply chain management company based in Sterling, VA, is seeking a Full-Time Office Assistant to work with the management team in daily office operations as well as the ability to maintain a high level of customer service. This is an hourly, contract position with the possibility to go full-time employment with full benefits in the next few months.


Government Contracts: (50%)

  • Assist with government bid summary, bid form preparation, and bid response submission
  • Assist with obtaining special pricing from vendors or manufacturers
  • Review bid submission package to ensure bid response completeness. Create markings and labels for bid responses
  • Coordinate with vendors for order production instructions, order delivery status, and other order fulfillment issues

Administrative: (30%)

  • Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages
  • Greet and assist visitors in a friendly, warm, and professional manner
  • Draft and distribute company emails, correspondence memos, letters, faxes, and forms
  • Assist the management in filing and clerical tasks
  • Order and maintain office supplies
  • Maintain an organized and clean office space
  • Organize and schedule appointments and meetings
  • Book travel arrangements

Customer Service: (20%)

  • Handle and address customer inquiries by email or by phone
  • Create replacement orders for product warranty claims
  • Assist both in-house and outside Sales Representatives with their quote requests

Education and/or Experience:

Associate of Arts Degree (A.A.) or above in Business Administration AND at least two years’ experience in office assistant or equivalent. Prior experience with government contracts is a plus.


  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc)
  • Working knowledge of office equipment, like printers, scanners and fax machines
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner in person, via phone or email
  • Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with administration and staff in a team-oriented environment
  • Detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving
  • Experience with book-keeping software QuickBooks is a plus
