The Community Colleges of Spokane is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Office Assistant 3 in the Facilities department.
Under general supervision, this position will provide clerical support to the SFCC campus facilities department. This position will maintain facilities databases and manual files, generate reports, answer telephones, provide key distribution and key order support to security department, create purchase requisitions and order/maintain office supplies, and provide other office support functions as needed.
CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Answer and/or direct customer questions either via the telephone or e-mail. *
Provide clerical support to the campus facilities office e.g. create and maintain electronic and manual files, generate reports, compose memos and letters, complete forms, providing support for purchasing, and etc. *
Enter, maintain, and extract data in the computer maintenance management system pertaining to facilities repairs, preventative maintenance, and chargeback work requests. *
Provide assistance with campus keys e.g. orders, stock database, inventory, contractor key distribution, and assistance with new & current keying/re-keying. *
Create purchase requisitions for the department and order/maintain office supplies. *
Support and advance the CCS strategic plan and perform other duties as assigned. *

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS)
Proficient in spelling, punctuation, sentence structure, and grammar.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Working knowledge of general office equipment and filing systems.
Experience using Microsoft Office software.
Ability to use a multi-line phone system and possess proper phone etiquette skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks meeting multiple deadlines.
Customer service experience.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Basic arithmetic skills.
Acceptance of the responsibility to promote the welfare and best interests of students at all times.
A demonstrable understanding and acceptance of the mission, values, goals and objectives of CCS.
The ability to perform assigned duties in a manner consistent with applicable laws, regulations and goals of the institution, community and technical college system.

PREFERRED COMPETENCIES (DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS)
Two years of increasingly responsible clerical experience.
Experience with computer maintenance management software (Directline).
Knowledge of CCS Building Improvement Request procedures.
CONDITIONS/TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Total compensation is an estimate based upon adding the following amounts together:
Base compensation, plus
Current employer-paid health and related benefit contribution rates, plus
Median retirement fund contributions.
The actual total will vary depending upon each employee's enrollment choices.
Person hired must be able to provide acceptable documentation of U.S. Citizenship or lawful authorization to work in the United States. This is an absolute condition of employment. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Full-time schedule (12-month, 40-hour week).
6-month probationary period; May be extended up to 12 months.
Position is eligible for overtime.
Criminal background check required.
