Measurement Incorporated (MI https://www.mi-schoolservices.com/) seeks a full-time Behavior Training Specialistfor the North Country region of New York State. The North Country region covers the following BOCES regions: 1. Clinton- Essex-Warren-Washington, 2. Franklin-Essex-Hamilton, and 3. St. Lawrence – Lewis. The Behavior Training Specialist will provide professional development and technical assistance for districts and schools within the North Country region on topics related to social-emotional and behavioral health within multi-tiered systems of support. Due to the nature of the work, onsite PD and TA, residency in the North Country or a willingness to relocate there is preferred.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a Master’s degree or higher in special education, education, psychology/counseling, or related field of study
  • Experience delivering professional development and/or technical assistance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Teaching licensure in special education or related field.
  • At least two years’ experience in the implementation of PBIS and multi-tiered systems of behavioral support in a school setting.
  • At least two years’ experience working with students with disabilities in a school setting.
  • At least two years classroom teaching experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to excel in a team environment.
  • Experience using web-based educational tools and technologies (e.g., Zoom, WebEx, etc.).

Responsibilities:

The Behavior Training Specialist will provide professional development and technical assistance via regional and site-based training and coaching. The main focus of this support will be to assess and improve systems of positive behavioral interventions and supports for students with disabilities using a data-driven approach within a multi-tiered system. The Behavior Training Specialist will work collaboratively with other training specialists in a team approach, as well as with other NYSED-funded partners, to meet the needs of the North Country region.

Travel is required weekly and on a daily basis at times. Travel will span approximately a 1-3 hour travel radius across the North Country. Service delivery will be provided through both on-site and online delivery methods.

The Behavior Training Specialist position is part of a five-year contract with the NYSED and will begin immediately upon hire. Salary is commensurate with experience. Yearly calendar of 10 or 12 months is negotiable.
