ATL is seeking a dynamic Microbiologist to join our team of dedicated professionals focused on client service and quality. The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, forward thinking, and possess outstanding leadership development and/or technical skills, organizational awareness, and a commitment to excellence.
The Microbiologist will set up information on data collection sheets, perform quality control testing on media prior to use, read plates after incubation, conduct result calculations and communicate any discrepancies or deviations to management upon discovery. This associate will also perform temperature checks of equipment, calibrate balances, clean and disinfect work spaces including hoods, run media melt cycles in the autoclave, run biohazard cycles in the autoclaves, and conduct sample analysis.
Conduct testing under compendia methods such as BAM, CTFA, SMWW, USP and internal SOPs.
Follow cGMP and GDP guidelines.
Complete necessary documentation in associated logbooks and data collection sheets.
Operate balances, autoclaves, pH meter, stomacher, pipette aid, while using aseptic technique.
Perform other essential tasks, projects, and responsibilities as required.
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Microbiology or other life science is required.
6 months to 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.
Ability to operate balances, autoclaves, pH meters, stomacher, pipette aid, spectrophotometer is necessary to be successful in this role.
Basic math skills, attention to detail and a good work ethic.
Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment.
