Position Overview

Assist company personnel in obtaining parts and supplies. Maintain purchasing, inventory, and repair records.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Fill out necessary paperwork for maintaining inventory, ordering, and repair records.
Answer incoming phone calls and take messages as necessary.
Computer input of processing of purchase orders, work orders, parts information and inventories.
Coordinate daily operations for department mail delivery, parts runs, etc.
Communicate with Parts Supervisor regarding issues of pricing, suppliers, service, and department personnel.
Run errands for parts, supplies, etc. for department when parts runner is busy or absent.
Run forklift to unload incoming and load outgoing shipments.
Assist drivers, mechanics, laborers, etc. in locating parts and supplies.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
One year parts and inventory experience highly preferred.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements

Demonstrates good performance, safety and attendance.
Demonstrates ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.
Demonstrates excellent organizational, customer service, and telephone skills.
Demonstrates the ability to perform work efficiently utilizing a P.C. and windows based software such as Excel, Word, and internet based programs.
Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with all departments and customers on the phone and in person.
Demonstrates the ability to work independently, without direct supervision.
Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills.
