At Highland Associates, the Portfolio Research Strategist is responsible for the research due diligence that supports the development of investment strategies, contributing to the overall portfolio design.
Develops and maintains knowledge of financial markets, securities and investment themes and trends to bring an informed perspective to the investment strategy development and modeling process
Manages and/or develops analytical methods/models to assess markets and new and existing investment strategies
Leverages investment expertise to analyze complex datasets and communicates conclusions
Produces research reports, position papers, commentaries in addition to client education material
Serves as an investment subject matter expert to clients, internal partners & external stakeholders
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
This position is incentive eligible.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field
Five (5) years of investment management or equivalent experience
Possess a strong foundation of basic investment knowledge including an understanding of capital markets, market indices and various securities (equity, fixed income and derivatives).
Demonstrates proficiency with at least one statistical software package or programming language (such as MATLAB, Python, Stata, "R", or Unix/Linux).
Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
Applicable knowledge of Factset software
